The standalone application is an implementation of the whatsapp web app in which you no longer need to use the browser. To make it work you need to scan the QR code from your WhatsApp on your smartphone.

• Download the application for Windows 8 64-bit or 32-bit according to your desktop computer's OS architecture. It will work on Windows 7 too.
• Open the file to install it. Wait for few seconds.

• Make sure that your desktop and smartphone should be connected to internet.
• Now on your smartphone open WhatsApp and go to "Menu>WhatsApp Web".
• A QR scanner will open.
• From your smartphone scan the QR code that is appearing on your computer's screen.

• To logout from the app just click the three dots on the top left corner next to a plus sign and click 'Log Out'.

Note: Your phone should be connected to network if you want to use the app on Windows 7.
